Episode 9 “LESTR” was centered around the tenants having to leave the Arconia, and the discovery that Lester killed Nicky to protect them. Episode 10 being the last of the season, we already know our trio needs to hurry to discover Lester’s killer!
In a flashback, Sofia and Nicky break up. Nicky threatens to kill Sofia’s lover. Nonna and the boys are still talking to our trio, accompanied by Howard, LESTR and Teddy. Nonna tells them Sofia recognized the finger. If we follow that path, the finger belongs to Sofia’s lover – and Lester’s killer?
One last murder board
Back in the Arconia, Randall and Camila’s PR drop a bomb to our amateurs detectives: the building will be destroyed after the press conference.
Could the finger belong to one of the billionaires? The trio is back to entertaining this idea. They call Bash, Jay and Camila to the underground parlor.
After an awkward dialogue in which our trio tries to talk like mobster, the Caccimelio boys arrive. They know how to act like mobsters – well, at the beginning anyway.
Chop chop
Mabel takes out a cleaver demanding the truth about the finger and Jay takes off his bandage: turns out his hand has five fingers! It was their way of trying to get the missing finger back.
Ah! Finally, the Mayor’s back, back for the press conference it seems. Or is he? Mabel receives an intriguing text and states she knows who killed Lester… AND she chops of one of the Mayor’s finger – it’s a fake! This scene is absolutely genius, love the reactions from the characters around the table.
Howard’s autocorrected messages are what actually gave the missing clue to Mabel: Beau Tillman was changed by « it’s beaufitul », which is exactly what Lester texted to his wife right before he died.
Things went sideways
The Mayor admits being there that night. And as Nicky discovered who was sleeping with his wife. He gets angry. Really angry. He does coke on the cleaver, comes back to the gaming table and chops Beau’s finger. Lester arrives, strikes Nicky to end everything and tells him he wants to go to the cops with his notebook. Nicky tear some pages and tries to swallow them. Now he’s choking on paper, then falls on Lester… and dies impaled on the cleaver he was still holding.
Lester leave the room with the Mayor’s finger. Beau finds him in the hall. Although he tries to fix the situation (offering money, of course), Lester won’t change his mind. Lester runs outside with the clank and his bird wistle. He sends a picture of the fountain to his wife, texting « it’s Beau Tillman, it’s Beau Tillman ». The Mayor pushes him in the fountain, he bangs his head and in his final breath, plays the wistle to activate the bird camera.
Final countdown
Half of the remaining episode, and we know who killed Nicky – and more importantly, who killed Lester. Crooked cops come to take the trio’s phones. They tie them up in the hidden room, to be burried alive when the building will be demolished.
As they believe they are living their last moments, we have sweet interactions between our trio (and also learn Charles was in the placebo group for the testosterone). In the hall, Howard, Miller and The find a way to get to them.
The improvizes a secret set for the press in the underground parlor, and all press follow her downstairs. They escape (who doesn’t love Charles the stripper?) and expose the Mayor in front of everyone. Thanks to a hidden recorder, they have all the proof they need. Beau tries to run away but is stopped by some birds (yes, you heard me).
Jay tries to make amends with Mabel by telling her the truth about how they dispose of the bodies. He tells her he wants to be a good person, and has already confessed to the cops. The billionaires are arrested. Sofia comes back to talk with Charles. She wants him to go to Positano with her, but he says no.
3 months later
Lorraine is seen living in the Arconia with a bunch of money she got from Sofia. Sofia is livng her best life in Positano, Italy (while nonna is dying). Howard is welcoming all the new residents. He seems to be dating Vinny, one of the Caccimelio boys.
Our amateur detectives are celebrating their anniversary, listening to Cinda’s new podcast, taking place in London. As they go out, they discover a new body just in front of the building. The body is Cinda!
Season 6 – London! It’s gonna change the dynamics so much.
